In East Windsor, New Jersey, from September 22 through October 31, Field of Terror opens its haunted attractions to celebrate the Halloween season. Most attractions open at 6:45 p.m. to create a spookier atmosphere, but several activities open in during daylight for smaller children.
Night-time Activities
There are 4 daytime activities and 5 night-time activities offered. Available in the center of the farm are food stands, music, and a goat-cuddling station. The main Haunted House is called Timmery Manor where the actors are allowed to touch the visitors. It is important to note that visitors can not touch the actors. The Karnival is a clown-themed walkthrough full of iridescent lights and jump scares. On the opposite side of the farm, The Haunted Hayride to TerrorTown is a 20-minute ride through a dark forest. On the Tractor, you can expect to see the characters join you for part of the ride as they can freely jump on and off for next-level scares.
There is also a Paintball Ride called Creepy Carnival which is an interactive hayride where you can shoot the characters with paintballs from where you are sitting. Next to the paintball attraction is the final activity, The Kornfield of Karnage. A winding corn maze full of different scary sets that you have to navigate in the dark. Deanna Sanchez, frequent customer, stated, “The Kornfield is my favorite because you can get close to the scenes they set up. It’s a very different experience.” The cost for nighttime attractions spans from $20 to $65 depending on which pass you purchase. Their passes range from a single pass to a quaint pass and you can pick and choose which attractions you want.
Day-time Activities
During the day there is a $10 corn maze a Pumpkin patch, and two different Hayrides. One of the hayrides will take you directly to the pumpkin patch for the price of $3. When you arrive each pumpkin and squash is 69 cents per pound. The second Hayride called the Unhaunted Hayride, costs $12 for adults and $6 for children.
They have a specific character year after year to keep the Field of Terror tradition. A Farmer named Frank lived on this farm years ago and tended all 100 acres. In an attempt to create a bigger, better human life form, he crossed the genetics of some of his vegetation with the DNA of local townspeople. His experiment failed horribly and now the result inhabits the land. Farmer Frank’s grandson who still tends to these crops today, goes by Ax Man.
The Rest of the Year
During the rest of the year this farm is known as the Kyle Family Farm. First-time visitor, Angelina Economos stated, “The fact that it is an actual farm all year makes Field of Terror more genuine and overall higher quality.”
They host various events throughout the spring and summer. They hold 3-yard sales each year, one in April, May, and June. You can pay $10 for a vendor spot from 7 am to 2 pm. Each year they host an Easter egg hunt for different age groups that includes photos with the Easter bunny. Kyle Family Farm also has party spaces available to rent. They are open Monday through Friday from 12 pm to 6 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm. They grow over 50 acres of produce and also sell a variety of dairy products and baked goods all year round.
